Yin & Pins - Spring Renewal

Sunday 8 October 10.00-11.30am

Join us for a beautiful Spring offering with the healing power of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). This morning we will be blending different modalities of TCM, combining Yin Yoga and Acupuncture to balance and harmonise the energy for Spring.

In Chinese medicine Spring is related to the liver and the element of wood (wind). Winter is the utmost yin of the season cycles. Winter is a time to slow down, rejuvenate and nourish the energy for the coming season. Spring is the beginning of the yang cycle of the seasons, it is a time to start to unwind, become more active and to start new goals and projects.

The energy of the Liver is about free flow of qi and movement.

If the Liver qi is stagnant, symptoms that can manifest are tension, stress, anger, irritability, PMS and possibly digestive problems like IBS triggered by emotions.

If the liver energy is excessive and out of balance, there can be symptoms such as anxiety, insomnia, headaches and an inability to feel centred and grounded.

Yin & Pins Spring Renewal is designed to balance the body, energy and mind and support the body’s natural cleansing and digestive mechanisms.

First, we will learn ancient Taoist breathing, to be able to use the breath to nourish the energy of the internal organs. Next, we will learn how to integrate Taoist breathing into a yin yoga sequence specifically designed to harmonise and awaken the energetic channels through the deep release body and connective tissue. Our practice will then flow onto an extended savasana where Acupuncturist Dean will provide a seasonally tailored Acupuncture session, focusing on the liver and gallbladder meridians to promote the health of the liver energy, and to assist with optimising the energy for the spring season.

Be prepared to feel grounded, relaxed and deeply nourished after this workshop. Due to the unique nature of this workshop, only limited space is available.
